Belmont Park Racecourse will host a very competitive program this Saturday afternoon, with the Listed Beaufine Stakes highlighting the nine-race card. We don’t expect the Belmont track to improve much from the current rating of a Soft 6 as there is a rain forecast for Friday and Saturday. The rail will be pushed out further to the +7m position for the entire circuit, with the action kicking off at 11:24am AWST. Here are our free Belmont tips for Saturday, July 8, 2023.
Beaufine Stakes Tip – Real Danger
Since being under the care of Daniel Morton, Real Danger has recorded back-to-back victories and will be looking to bring up the hatrick on Saturday when the four-year-old mare takes on the Listed Beaufine Stakes. Last start, this daughter of I Am Invincible settled behind the leader, before letting down with a nice turn of foot to defeat Bitofmerit by half a length on the line at this track and distance on June 3. William Pike has been on board for both of her wins this preparation and with him retaining the ride on Saturday, we expect Rare Danger to replicate her last start performance and make it three-in-a-row.

Best Bet at Belmont – Too Dardy
The Justine Erkelens-trained Too Dardy appears to be the best bet on the Belmont program, as he will strike a very winnable race, where his nearest rival is Berbere, who he beat last start. This three-year-old gelding could be undefeated this preparation if it wasn’t for the bad luck he found first-up. However, second-up there was no bad luck and this son of Demerit proved way too good for his rivals, running away with a dominant 1.2 length victory over 1000m at this track. Shaun O’Donnell has ridden this gelding at both of his starts this time in and with him retaining the ride on Saturday, we anticipate that he will be given another great opportunity to record his first win over 1200m.

Next Best at Belmont – Duchess Of Gossip
Duchess Of Gossip was made to travel three-wide for the entire trip at her last start and was only beaten by War Gem, who received a great tag into the race from the 600m mark and defeated her by just under half a length. This three-year-old filly had been very good at her previous two starts, winning over 1300m and 1400m before that last start defeat. This daughter of All American clearly has ability and with the runs reversed, she would have brought up a winning hattrick. William Pike will be legged aboard for his first ride on this filly this weekend, and if he can have her settled one horse off the rail and just better than midfield, Duchess Of Gossip should prove too good for her rivals.

Best Value at Belmont – Allez Allez
The Michael Lane-trained Allez Allez was desperately unlucky last start when he went down by the barest of margins at Pinjarra over 1412m on June 22 – only defeated by Beat The Bro in the final stride. This six-year-old gelding settled behind the leader after jumping from barrier one, and as the field rounded the home bend, he had to wait for a gap to appear before making his run. Chris Parnham pushed through the gap and savaged the line, but the eventual winner had the momentum and nabbed him on the line. Parnham will partner this son of Danehill Express again on Saturday, and the rise to 1600m should only be seen as a positive.
