Bathurst Betting Preview – Feburary 08, 2021
Seven races are set to go around at Bathurst on Monday afternoon. It is currently a Soft 7, and the rail is out +2m from the 1200m-350m before the cutaway applies. Race 1 will jump at 1:50pm.
Best Bet: Giselle Anne #2
Four-year-old mare Giselle Anne lines up in start 21 on Monday in a bid to win her first race. She has been placed seven times, including a half-length defeat at Wyong last time out. While she has had every chance to win one, she looks ready to win off her last start and won’t find an easier race than this. Drawn gate 4, she should get all the favours in the run and be too good.
Next Best: Into The Fire #2
Kathy O’Hara and Bjorn Baker combine in the third with dominant last start winner Into The Fire. The three-year-old won by 3L at this track last time out to break his maiden status, and he returns to the scene of the crime to make it two straight. Barrier 5 will see him bounce on the bunny and he should be able to give Kathy O’Hara another winner.
Best Value: Bad Boy For Love #4
Gayna Williamsa saddles up her consistent five-year-old gelding, Bad Boy For Love in a Class 4 over the 1208m where he looks well placed. The son of Wanted has placed twice recently in town in Highway races which should see him competitive in this. The soft track will be to his advantage, and the inside alley should see him settle midfield on the back of a decent tempo. He ran third at this track and distance last start when he closed off nicely, and he drops 1.5kg here. He’s a live chance.
