Ken Barron will be out to continue his outstanding recent form at Addington on Friday night.
The West Melton horseman lines up five horses from his stable and takes two outside drives on the back of producing a winning double at Thursday night’s Addington meeting.
Barron continued his hot run in the sulky, winning with his own debutante in Franco Stefan and the Alan Edge trained Bolzano.
Barron will hand the reins behind most of his team over to Blair Orange, who will steer Longview Lady in her quest for a hat-trick of wins in race 4.
Barron can not see why the four-year-old will not go another strong race when she lines up against a quality field in what is set to be a cracking 1980m contest.
“She is just in the zone, she has been going good and she will do the same again.”
Longview Lady clashes with Mark Jones’ classy fillies La Rosa and Braeview Kelly, as well as smart first-up winner Who Made Who and the consistent That Alexander Guy.
Barron hopes changes to the blinds and the bit Teagan Banner wears will help the six-year-old go a better race in his second start under lights.
The pacer goes into race 8 after getting wound up in his preliminary and then running down the track at Addington last week.
“He just played up really badly under lights, he was a lunatic in the warm-up and run his race then and went awful.”
“We have taken the blinds off him and hopefully he goes better.”
Sam Payne again takes the reins behind Teagan Banner in Friday night’s 2600m junior driver’s event.
Barron’s niece, Ellie, drives the horse to beat in the Mark Jones trained Plutonium Lady.
Most punters will know what to expect from the Barron trained Tyene heading into race 9.
The trotter clearly has ability but has not yet got her manners in check, as seen in her last run at Addington.
“She just can’t cop any adversity, so she has just got to have everything go her way,” Barron said.
“She is just a poor good horse, she has got the ability but she is very in and out.”
Orange also takes the reins behind Tyene.
The Barron stable lines up both Idealingold and Bettor Grunter in race 10.
Idealingold scored in his first start at Motukarara last month.
“The only reason he is there is to give him more experience next week in the premiers (races),” Barron said.
“He has had quite an extensive trial preparation but he has only had one race, he got tipped out and he was late scratched in his first start and then won his next one.”
“He hasn’t had a lot of experience and he has gone from an unqualified horse to a one-win horse which is a massive jump.”
Bettor Grunter has been running honest races over summer and Barron expects him to produce the same in Friday night’s 1980m event.
“He has drawn out this time (8), but he is very honest.”
Barron drives Bettor Grunter with Blair Orange taking the reins behind Idealingold.
Robert Dunn’s group three winner Dashing Major looks ideally placed and a hard horse to beat in race 10.
Barron’s three outside drives include smart trotting filly Time Up The Hill, who makes her three-year-old return in race 3.
He will also steer Get Kraken in race 6, Friday night’s two-year-old event for colts and geldings.
