Sydney trainer Bjorn Baker will head to Hawkesbury on Saturday in the hopes of snaring black-type with his consistent gelding Kiss The Bride.
Out of Group One winner I Do, Kiss The Bride was purchased out of Waikato Stud’s 2017 New Zealand Bloodstock Premier Yearling Sale draft for $200,000 by Baker in partnership with Blandford Bloodstock.
The son of Savabeel has notched up nine victories in his career to date and Baker is hoping he can breakthrough for his first stakes victory in the Gr.3 Hawkesbury Gold Cup (1600m) this weekend.
“He’s been a great campaigner and funnily enough, his breed in particular get better,” Baker said.
“His mum (I Do) won a Group One as a seven-year-old so I’m still hoping he’s on the upward curve.
“Hopefully he can run a good race on Saturday, we’d love to get him down to the Wagga Cup (Listed, 2000m) and have a crack there.”
