Sadly, Allen Deed – the longstanding 525-metre track record holder at The Meadows – passed away yesterday, aged 10. He was whelped on Christmas Day, 2011. Trained by Andrea Dailly, Allen Deed clocked a scintillating 29.376sec in a Free For All on January 3, 2015 – slashing around 1L off the 29.45sec mark set by Heston Bale (also prepared by Dailly) on December 17, 2011 in a 12.75L Silver Chief heat romp.
