Ascot Racecourse will host a massive nine-race card on Saturday, highlighted by the two Group 3 events – the Prince Of Wales Stakes and Asian Beau Stakes. The track is currently rated a Good 4, although there is some rain on the forecast for Saturday morning which could push us into the Soft range on race day. The rail will be in the true position for the meeting, with racing to get underway at 12:24pm AWST.
Prince Of Wales Stakes Tip: Miss Conteki
In the $150,000 Group 3 Prince Of Wales Stakes, the Simon Miller-trained Miss Conteki looks very tough to beat after taking out the Listed Crawford Stakes on October 15, where she beat most of the rivals she will face on Saturday. This lightly raced six-year-old mare has an outstanding career record with 10 wins from 15 starts, including three wins from four starts second-up. At her last start, this daughter of Eurozone blew the whistle up the inside fence to win by a nose over This’ll Testya over 1000m. Now that she is second-up with that formidable record, it is very hard to go past this very talented mare after her impressive return.

Asian Beau Stakes Tip: Trix Of The Trade
In the second of the $150,000 Group 3s, we will be siding with the Trix Of The Trade, who was ultra-impressive winning first-up while lumping a massive 61kg over 1400m. This four-year-old gelding for the Colin Webster yard has only missed the placings once, which was in a Group 2 WA Derby where he didn’t see out the 2400m. This son of Trade Fair has won eight of his first 12 career starts and he is very versatile; he can go back and run on, or sit on speed and still let down in the straight. With this guy dropping 7kg in this Group 3 race, staying at the 1400m and drawing wide in barrier 18, it looks like an ideal race for him to continue on his winning ways.

Best Bet: Lexington City
Our best bet of the day will come up in the first race, where the Simon Miller-trained Lexington City looks very hard to beat after being pipped on the line first-up over 1000m. After returning from a five-month spell and going within a whisker of winning first-up, this guy will be much fitter, and after winning his only second-up run last preparation, Miller will have this guy ready to go. With only one other speed horse in this race, the speed map should suit this son of City Place. He will lead them up to the corner and look to kick away on the turn and be too far in front for the rest of the field to catch him.

Best Value: Mr Delegator
Todd Harvey has his six-year-old gelding Mr Delegator engaged in the fifth race of the day, and he looks to be very well placed with the aid of Keshaw Dhurun’s 2kg claim. This son of Maschino is undefeated at the Ascot 1600m and has a very good record second-up, with two wins and a second from four starts, so considering he hits this race second-up after a solid fourth-place finish over 1400m, it looks perfect for him. Online bookmakers are giving us $11 for this gelding and we are more than happy to get involved at that price.
