The annual Anzac Day meeting returns to Royal Randwick on Saturday afternoon, with a competitive eight-part program lined up on the Kensington circuit. The rail is in the true position the entire circuit, and with the track rated a Soft 6 at the time of acceptances and more rainfall forecast in the lead-up, punters can expect that rating to hold true for race-day. The opening event is scheduled to commence at 12:45pm local time.

Engine Room made a mess of his rivals when breaking his maiden at Warwick Farm on April 2. The son of Super Seth rounded them up stylishly from the rear of the field to record the one-length victory, being eased down by Zac Lloyd in the final 100m. The Bryce Heys camp have been conservative finding a second-up assignment, and with BM64 contest lacking depth outside of the favoured galloper, expect Engine Room to have no issues claiming back-to-back wins at the short price with horse racing bookmakers.

Campaldino didn’t look like stopping when bursting clear in the Orange Gold Cup (2100m) on April 11. The Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott-trained gelding was exceptional over the 2100m, proving hard too classy for country grade. He’ll strip fitter for that effort extending to the 1400m, and with Anna Roper likely to gain the run of the race from barrier four, punters can expect a similarly dominant display in this BM78 contest by Campaldino.

Satin Sparkle had no luck chasing home Redicio at Wyong on April 3, cast three-and-four deep without cover in the small field of six. She did a good job despite the torrid run in transit, leveling up to the leading contingent before peaking on the run first-up from a spell. Zac Lloyd should have no issue getting cover from gate two, and provided Satin Sparkle has come on from that testing performance, expect her to be right in this when the whips are cracking.
