The Group 1 All Aged Stakes (1400m) headlines the action at Royal Randwick on Saturday afternoon, with a star-studded field of 14 set to line up in the $1.5 million weight-for-age feature.
The team Hawkes-trained Briasa holds the call as the $3.60 favourite with horse racing bookmakers and is looking for back-to-back Group 1 successes after claiming the Group 1 T.J. Smith Stakes (1200m) on Day 1 of The Championships.
Tyler Schiller continues his association aboard the improving four-year-old gelding and appears set to gain the run of the race from stall four.
Two runners share the second line of betting at $6, including Group 1 Rosehill Guineas (2000m) winner Broadsiding dropping back to the 1400m after a month between runs.
James McDonald will be legged aboard the lone three-year-old taking on the older horses and should be aided by a soft draw in barrier three.
Joliestar ($6) is the other runner on the second line of betting after producing racing on the worst part of the track in the T.J. Smith Stakes, with horse racing betting sites happy to forgive the Chris Waller-trained mare.
Jimmysstar was flashing through the line at the end of 1200m in the same event and rounds out the chances at single figures at the .
The Tony Gollan-trained Antino is sure to have plenty of admirers at $11, with the son of Redwood returning to Australia after a luckless performance in the Group 1 Hong Kong Mile (1600m) at Sha Tin on December 8.
The chances don’t end there, however, with the likes of Magic Time ($11) and Kimochi ($15) representing good each-way value.
The 2025 All Aged Stakes is race eight on the Randwick program and is scheduled to get underway at 3:40pm local time.
