The Group 1 Coolmore Classic (1500m) headlines the action at Rosehill on Saturday afternoon, with a field of 15 fillies and mares set to battle it out for the $1 million prize.
It comes as no surprise that the Chris Waller barn is well represented, with as many as five runners set to take their place on Saturday, with the camp attempting to claim a hat-trick of wins in the time-honoured feature in as many years after Zougotcha (2024) and Espiona (2023) secured victory in back-to-back editions.
Will it be Waller’s star three-year-old Lady Shenandoah to get the job done? Or is there an upset brewing in the 2025 Coolmore Classic?

It’s all one-way traffic as money continues to come for Lady Shenandoah in the Coolmore Classic after horse racing betting sites installed her as the $2.40 favourite for the event.
Everything else is on the drift, including Group 2 Guy Walter Stakes (1400m) winner Amelia’s Jewel on the second line of betting at $5.50 with Neds.
Lady Of Camelot ($7.00) is the only other runner holding single figures after finishing runner-up in the Group 1 Surround Stakes, while the likes of Melbourne-based duo Coeur Volante ($13.00) and Marble Arch ($13.00) are yet to budge after opening at $13.00 apiece, respectively.

The girls should burn the Rosehill turf in this year’s edition of the Coolmore Classic, with Grinzinger Belle (12) and Lady Of Camelot (14) likely to storm across in an attempt to gain ascendency throughout the 1500m journey.
Amelia’s Jewel (6) showed good early speed to make every post a winner last time out and maps to find the one-one this time around, while Kerrin McEvoy will be looking to hold the rail aboard Coeur Volante from barrier one.
Olentia (3) and Scarlet Oak (2) shouldn’t be too far off the leading section from their inside barriers, while Lady Shenandoah may go forward in a searching run to find cover somewhere mid-field under James McDonald.

Lady Shenandoah warrants all the respect in the world; however, she appears well found at the current price with BlondeBet in the 2025 Coolmore Classic.
