The Hillside course at Sandown is back in action on Wednesday afternoon for a stacked nine-race meeting. A perfect, albeit windy day is forecast, so the Good 4 track rating will likely remain in place throughout the card, while the rail be out 7m for the entire circuit. The Sandown races on September 4 are set to commence at 12:30pm AEST.

Best Bet at Sandown: Big Me

Big Me has impressed in both outings since arriving from Hong Kong. The six-year-old gelding was only nabbed on the line at Moonee Valley on August 10, when he was brought undone by being on the slower section of the track along the rails. From barrier seven, Blake Shinn will look to land the one-one before overhauling some vulnerable leaders in the final furlong.

Pharari strung together two dominant victories during the winter, saluting by a combined 13.8 lengths on rain-affected ground. The only query around the four-year-old mare in this BM70 affair is how she will go on firmer ground. Mark Zahra will look to zip across from barrier 10 and run his rivals ragged over the 1000m.

Best Value at Sandown: Viasain

Viasain was impressive when breaking his maiden on the Ballarat synthetic over 1100m on August 16, as he showed nice gate speed and managed to lead throughout. From barrier eight, Jamie Mott will likely roll forward and hold a prominent position. He may bring lesser form to this BM64, but Viasain will give a bold sight at a nice price with horse racing bookmakers.
