Metro racing returns to Warwick Farm Racecourse on Wednesday afternoon, with a quickfire seven-part program scheduled to get underway at 1:25pm local time. The rail is in the true position the entire circuit, and although the track is rated a Soft 7 at the time of acceptances, the sunny skies forecast in the lead-up should mean an upgrade to the Good range for race day. Celerity returns after a 178-day spell and appears primed for a first-up assault. The daughter of Exceed And Excel was held back under a stranglehold by Zac Lloyd in a recent trial at Hawkesbury on August 5, with the three-year-old seemingly ready to explode if given the cue in the final furlong. She was earmarked as a top seed for Godolphin heading into last season’s Group 1 Golden Slipper (1200m), and although she was unable to reach those hefty targets, this maiden appears well within her grasp.

House Of Cards couldn’t have been more impressive first-up at Hawkesbury on August 1, careering away to score by 2.8 lengths as he was eased down by Tommy Berry in the concluding stages. He gets his first crack at metro company in this wide-open BM72 contest, and with Berry likely to stalk his rivals from the one-one, watch for House Of Cards, who should be powering home down the centre of the course as he looks to secure back-to-back wins.

Best Value at Warwick Farm: Rasp
Although Rasp was winless in four starts last preparation, the James Cummings-trained gelding contested some classy races, including the Listed Fernhill Mile (1600m) where he managed to close within three lengths of Broadsiding. He drops back significantly in grade as he returns from a 129-day spell, and despite the 1300m being short of his best trip, punters can expect Rasp to be closing well at an each-way price with horse racing bookmakers.
