Presides was launching home first-up at Gosford on May 16 but narrowly missed out on his maiden victory by a nose. The son of Lonhro got a pair further back in the run than Zac Lloyd would’ve liked on that occasion, with the leader giving a strong kick as the three-year-old chased gamely, lacking race-day fitness. Kerrin McEvoy gets the task of slotting in for cover from barrier 14, but provided Presides can gain an economical run in transit, this progressive James Cummings-trained gelding should figure in this.

Silvakia looks perfectly placed second-up after a testing return at Kembla Grange on May 18. The four-year-old was asked to make inroads from the rear of the field against genuine sprinting types, with the Brad Widdup-trained mare unable to match motors on the Heavy surface. Getting back on top of the ground should be ideal, and with a soft draw (4) allowing Zac Wadick to stalk from closer order, Silvakia should be given every chance to make amends at an each-way price with horse racing betting sites.
