The Melbourne Racing Club will host its second meeting in four days at Sandown Racecourse, with a very competitive eight-race card scheduled to be run on the Lakeside track this Wednesday afternoon. Although the track was rated as a Good 4 at the time of acceptances, there is rain forecast to fall on Wednesday, so it is possible that the meeting will be run on a Soft surface. The rail will be in the +3m position for the entire circuit, with the opening race set to jump at 12:25pm AEST.
Best Bet at Sandown: Oak Hill
Oak Hill returned from a 20-week spell at this track and trip on May 8, when the Mike Moroney-trained gelding stormed home from deep to win despite a difficult run. It was a career highlight for the three-year-old, who has won twice from his four career starts. With Damian Lane jumping back aboard, and after drawing a good barrier (4), Oak Hill will only need to produce a similar finish to bring up back-to-back wins.
Best Bet
Race 8 – #7 Oak Hill (4)
3yo Gelding | T: Mike Moroney | J: Damian Lane (58.5kg)

Next Best at Sandown: Hypeman
Matt Laurie and Ethan Brown will combine again with Hypeman as the three-year-old gelding seeks to record his second win in three runs. After taking five runs to break his maiden, the son of Dundeel looked set to bring up back-to-back victories but was swamped by From Pantherland over 1300m at Cranbourne on May 17. If Brown can get Hypeman to jump well and find the front on the rail, he will give a good kick on the home bend and give his rivals something to chase.
Next Best
Race 3 – #6 Hypeman (5)
3yo Gelding | T: Matt Laurie | J: Ethan Brown (59kg)

Best Value at Sandown: Princess Nefertiti
Princess Nefertiti was unlucky first-up at Wangaratta, where she was held up before the home turn, got into a bumping duel with another runner and still led before fading late. Declan Bates has chosen to stick with this mare, and if he can settle midfield off the rail from barrier nine, Princess Nefertiti will be running home strongly to figure in the finish.
best Value
Race 6 – #8 Princess Nefertiti (9)
4yo Mare | T: Ben Brisbourne | J: Declan Bates (58kg)
