Hong Kong racing returns to Sha Tin on Wednesday evening for a rare all-weather meeting under lights. The rail sits in the true position all the way around, and with some rainfall on the radar, expect the surface to be chopped up throughout the night as jockeys attempt to avoid the kick-back. The first of eight races is scheduled to get underway at 7:15pm local time.
Best Bet: Triumphant Warrior
Triumphant Warrior is winless heading into start eight but appears ready to strike in this relatively weak Class 4 affair. The son of Bungle Inthejungle didn’t appreciate the step up to the 1650m last start, with the four-year-old fading out of the contest despite a lovely run in transit. Stepping back to the 1200m should be a positive, and with Zac Purton likely to stalk his rivals again from barrier three, expect a much better showing from Triumphant Warrior.

Euro Rocks returns after a 23-week spell and appears perfectly placed in this Class 4 contest. The gelding by Swiss Ace has been consistent without winning in Class 3 company, with his latest performance at this course and distance on December 3 catching the eye before being sent to the paddock. His barrier trials suggest he’s ready to go first-up, and with a soft run from stall six, Euro Rocks should be figuring in this.

After nine consecutive starts at Happy Valley, Beauty Infinity is set to take on the Sha Tin all-weather circuit for the first time. He only missed the frame twice in those performances, with his most recent effort a 3.5-length defeat at the hands of an airborne Copartner Prance. His trial on the all-weather surface caught the eye on May 23, and provided he handles conditions, Beauty Infinity appears to be a terrific each-way play with online bookmakers in a wide-open race.
