I Am Unstoppable, the runner-up in the last year’s Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m), will miss next month’s Group 1 Newmarket Handicap (1200m) after connections decided to send the colt to the spelling paddock following his last-placed finish in last weekend’s Black Caviar Lightning (1000m).
“He pulled up with a slow recovery and his heart rate was pretty high for a fairly long time after the race and he was a bit agitated,” said Lloyd Kennewell, who trains I Am Unstoppable in partnership with Lucy Yeomans.
“We’ve had him checked over, done some bloods and tests on him this week and he has gone to the paddock for seven days to get his head down on the grass and recover. He had some high white cells as well, so we wanted to make sure we treat it and reset really.
“There is an abundance of races around so it’s just a matter of when he’s ready and get him to be a winner again really.
“But there’s ample options, it’s just a matter of making sure he is 110 per cent.”
