The racing industry will be showing their support for the Hawke’s Bay Cancer Society at the Tarzino Trophy Daffodil Raceday at Hastings racecourse on Saturday with the return of the Daffodil Day silks.
The colours will be carried by a carefully selected horse in each of the 10 races this weekend, with the TAB pledging a donation to the local charity for every winner carrying the silks.
“In the past, the TAB has donated $2,000 for every race won by a horse wearing the Hawke’s Bay Cancer Society silks. This year, we’ve continued that contribution, but have boosted the donation for the Tarzino Trophy (R9 on Saturday) to $5,000,” TAB spokesperson Matt Smith said.
“Hawke’s Bay Racing has worked hard to secure 10 good chances across the card who will wear the silks.”
The horses carrying the Cancer Society silks will be:
Race 1 – #10 She’s So Reliable
Race 2 – #4 Gohugo
Race 3 – #13 Colorado Silver
Race 4 – #7 Maldini
Race 5 – #2 Solidify
Race 6 – #12 Hayley
Race 7 – #6 Oneira
