The Parks track at Morphettville is the destination for metropolitan racing in South Australia on Saturday, with a competitive nine-race program scheduled. With rain forecast in the lead-up to the meeting and on Saturday itself, the Soft 6 rating may not last, with action set to be run on a Heavy track. The rail returns to the true position throughout, with racing getting underway at 12:07pm ACST.
Best Bet at Morphettville: Metro Legend
Metro Legend is on the quick back-up following a competitive run at Moonee Valley last weekend and returns to without a doubt a weaker race at Morphettville. He has a win and four minor placings on the Parks track and is a sprinter who will relish any rain that will fall. Regular jockey Jacob Opperman sticks on board and with his 1.5kg claim, Metro Legend gets in perfectly at the weights. Stepping back up to the 1550m from 1200m should be no issue and with an uncontested lead expected, Metro Legend should prove too hard to run down.

Next Best at Morphettville: Chicago Storm
David Aldridge’s Chicago Storm returns to the track for the first time since placing in the Listed City Of Adelaide Handicap on April 22. The five-year-old has had a decent hitout at the trials in preparation to his first-up run on a track he consistently performs at. He has two wins and three minors to his name on the Parks circuit, with a win and two seconds coming at the 1250m which he resumes at. From barrier four, look for Sheridan Tomlinson to stalk the speed throughout and with even luck on the home turn, Chicago Storm should put his rivals away with relative ease.

Best Value at Morphettville: El Cordobes
Danny O’Brien’s El Cordobes make his return to the races and strikes on of the easier races he has contested in his career. With just one win and five minors to his name, he is extremely hard to catch, but he should prove too good for this lot on Saturday. Just four runs back he took the Group class Jimmy The Bear to within a head at Moonee Valley, but has struggled to hold that form since. With a win and two minor placings to his name when fresh, as long as Fred Kersley can land a spot with cover, El Cordobes should prove a touch too classy.
