The Brisbane Racing Club will host a very competitive nine-race card out of Eagle Farm Racecourse this Saturday afternoon. The track is currently rated a Soft 5, but with no rain on the forecast for Friday and Saturday, we expect to be racing on a perfect Good 4 surface throughout the program. The rail will be in the +5m position for the entire circuit, with racing set to kick off at 11:38am AEST.
Best Bet at Eagle Farm: Tango Fever
The Robert Heathcote-trained Tango Fever broke her maiden in fine style first-up at this track and trip on July 15, where she defeated He’s For The Girls by 2.2 lengths. This three-year-old filly sat just behind the speed before peeling off the leader’s back at the top of the home straight to run away with an easy victory. From barrier two on Saturday, expect Martin Harley to adopt similar tactics and settle behind the speed before releasing the brakes and allowing this daughter of More Than Ready to run over the top of her rivals.

Next Best Bet at Eagle Farm: Wegobam
Wegobam attempted the 1600m at Eagle Farm for the first time last start, and even though she ran up the inside and was slightly held up at the 200m mark, the six-year-old was only beaten 1.4 lengths by Shopping Esprit. The Jack Bruce-trained mare has been racing in great form this time in, recording two wins and five placings from nine starts. This daughter of Sebring will stay in Benchmark 78 grade and at 1600m, so with good speed expected in this race, Samantha Collett will settle her at the back of the field and look to run on down the outside. If Wegobam gets clear running with 300m to go, she will be flashing home late.

Best Value at Eagle Farm: Heleva Deel
The Mark Currie-trained Heleva Deel was very good on return at Toowoomba last start, running on strongly from the back of the field to finish third over 1100m in Benchmark 70 grade on July 15. This daughter of Dundeel has since been given a 925m tick-over trial at Toowoomba, where she settled at the rear of the small field before making up a stack of ground under no riding to finish second. On that form, the six-year-old mare appears to be way over the odds at $26 with most online bookmakers.
