Country racing heads to Bathurst to kick-off the new week with a competitive seven-race program set for decision. The rail is out +2m between the 1200m to 800m and will be in the true position for the remainder of the circuit. At the time of writing, the course is currently operating in the Soft range; however, with a favourable forecast over the weekend, we’re hopeful the surface will be upgraded into a Good 4 for race-day. The first race is set to get underway at 12:55pm AEST.
Best Bet at Bathurst – Hell’s Fury
It’s been 282 days since we’ve seen Hell’s Fury on the track, and this is a terrific opportunity to resume a winner. She went to the paddock on a nice win at Taree on August 26 and has since been transferred to the Bjorn Baker stable. Her barrier trials have been outstanding despite what the form guide may read and seems to be set up to run extremely well after performing well in jump-outs against quality opposition. We concede she’s a question mark with such a long time off the scene; however, with the small field engaged, we’ll be hoping Brandon Lerena can take control before speeding away from his rivals on the turn.
