Metropolitan racing heads to Warwick Farm Racecourse on Wednesday afternoon for a quickfire seven-race program. The track is currently listed as a Soft 7, and although we should get some nice weather on Tuesday, a Soft rating is still the most likely scenario. The rail is in the true position for the entire circuit and the course should play slightly more favourably to those gallopers up on speed. The first race is set to get underway at 12:50pm AEST.
Best Bet: Grebeni
In the second race of the day, Grebeni will be looking to pick up his second career win. He returned on April 26 to Kembla Grange over an unsuitable 1300m, and the Heavy track did this son of Ocean Park no favours. He was a long last turning for home and showed plenty of class to power into second position, less than a half-length away from the winner, Estilete. It was an impressive return from this lightly raced three-year-old, and we love that the Gerald Ryan & Sterling Alexiou stable has picked a 1600m target second-up. He draws a lovely gate to find a more forward position throughout the journey, and with Jason Collett sticking aboard this progressive type, we’re confident Grebeni will be powering home again — this time to victory.

Next Best: Air To Air
The penultimate race of the Warwick Farm meeting is for the fillies and mares, where we believe Air To Air is the one to beat. She’s now third-up into the campaign for the Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott yard, and already has a win on the board for the new stable when she resumed on March 22. She’s since had a disappointing effort on a bottomless Rosehill track on April 29, but that is a definite forgive run. She’s had seven starts on Heavy surfaces now and has never found the frame in any of them. A Good track on Wednesday would be more ideal; however, so long as it doesn’t get out of the Soft range, we’re not concerned about Air To Air getting through the conditions. She has class on her rivals, hence the 61kg she must lug, but we think it’s a task this daughter of Smart Missile can handle.

Best Value: Imrahor
Imrahor is one of the most intriguing runners on the program. He’s a European import picked up by the Annabel Neasham barn and has only managed one start since arriving in Australia coming back in June of last year. He ran a long last and has since been put away for almost a full year before finding himself first-up at Warwick Farm with multiple trials under his belt. We’ve loved his work at the jump-outs, and his first-up profile before landing in Australia suggests this is the best time to be backing him. It’s also the best chance of getting a price for Imrahor, with punters unlikely to launch into the unknown commodity. He draws to get a soft run in transit, and with the valuable claim of apprentice jockey Jett Stanley, we think Imrahor can give followers a bold sight at each-way odds with online bookmakers.
