Symon Wilde’s stable will hope the rain continues falling in Sydney now they’ve got the Queen Of The Turf Stakes in mind for Sirileo Miss after her stunning Sunline Stakes victory.

And she could offer punters good value money if she does line up at elite level on April 8.

The five-year-old mare was unstoppable in the Group 2 feature over a mile and worth $300,000, exploding past $3.10 betting site favourite Revolutionary Miss at the 400m mark on Friday night.

She never looked like losing from there, going on to salute by 5 ½ lengths, despite carrying 57kg to Peter and Paul Snowden’s talented filly lugging 54kg.

Assistant trainer Liam Hoy was stunned with the performance and length of victory from his $3.50 winning chance, and now thinks she can compete in top company.

“It was huge. She made them look second-rate, which was quite extraordinary,” he told HorseBetting.com.au.

“She (Revolutionary Miss) had us better at the weights, so she did it at both ends and on her terms.”

Hoy said Sirileo Miss has earnt her shot at the Group 1 Queen Of The Turf Stakes – also over a mile and worth $1 million – at Randwick next month.

“It’s a fillies and mares mile in weight-for-age conditions in Sydney,” he said.

“Any rain that hits the ground would certainly help her as well.

“I think that’ll be her go, and I think she deserves her chance as well.”

Friday night was the second consecutive win for Sirileo Miss, who also saluted in the Group 3 Matron Stakes at Flemington on March 11.

“It’s been a good prep. She’s not getting any younger, and she’s in an unbelievable vein of form,” he said.

Hoy was delighted at the turn of foot Sirileo Miss showed at the 400m mark to prevail in such comfortable fashion over Kewney Stakes winner Revolutionary Miss, who has over $970,000 in prizemoney to her name.

“She’s not getting any younger, and she’s in an unbelievable vein of form,” he said.

“What she does with her sectionals (is impressive). If she can reel off those and have them out of their comfort zone, it takes a good one to run past her.

“And mares in form are sometimes untapped. Just her ability to maintain a high speed is quite extraordinary.”

Meanwhile, Hoy said four-year-old Wishlor Lass was another Symon Wilde-trained talent to monitor.

She has won three of her four starts.

“I think Wishful Lass is a very good horse, and she’ll be one to keep an eye on,” he said.

“She had a great first preparation, and she should build off that.”
