Punters searching for a winner at The Meadows on Saturday night can take one result to the bank.
Tim Britton will prepare the winner of race 9, a 730m staying test at 9.22pm.
The big question is, which of the young Lara trainer’s six runners will prevail?
In remarkable circumstances for a ‘Premier’ city meeting, 33-year-old Britton, son of master distance conditioner Robert, will supply the entire field.
“I’d probably lean towards the ones that have run the 730m before.”
Sportsbet has marked Wheel And Go (box 1) as $2.40 favourite, ahead of Fast Milkman (box 2), a winner over 730m at The Meadows last Saturday, at $4.40, with five of the Britton sextet priced $5.50 or shorter.
“I can’t lose!” Britton quipped.
“But if you’re asking me who’s going to win, I really can’t tell you.
“There’s a couple that are proven over 700m and we’re hoping some of the others that have been running over 600m can step up.
“I’d probably lean towards the ones that have run the 730m before.
“Fast Milkman won last week, and Play Nice has had two runs back from a spell and if he’s ready, he’ll run well. But he might still be one more run away.
WATCH: “He was the superior stayer!” FAST MILKMAN (B2) delivered a tough staying performance in a last start 730m success at The Meadows and is chasing back-to-back victories on Saturday night.
“Dirt Farmer hasn’t been over ‘700’ before, but he could lead the race. Wheel And Go didn’t seem to run the ‘700’ when we tried him earlier on, but I’m hoping he handles it better now he’s a bit older.”
With their trainer posing just as many questions as answers, good luck to ‘outsiders’ attempting to sort out the ‘Battle Of Britton’.
Wheel And Go, Fast Milkman and Cash It In are siblings by multiple Group 1 finalist Benali out of Erelda Bale, a litter sister to champion Fanta Bale, which was trained by Robert Britton.
Dirt Farmer, Play Nice and On The Off are sons of Fernando Bale and grand producer Tears Siam, making them full relations to superstar stayer Tornado Tears and G1 winners Here’s Tears and Rippin’ Sam, all of which were also prepared by Robert Britton.

Saturday could be a memorable night for Britton, who also has a very keen interest in the Group 1 Galaxy (715m) at Cannington, as the regular trainer of $12 chance First Picked.
First Picked is based with WA caretaker Chris Halse, as is Quick Smart, an $8 chance in the G3 Perth Cup Consolation (530m); both are also members of the Benali x Erelda Bale litter.
Last September, First Picked presented the ‘son of a gun’ with his first Group success, when winning the G3 Top Cat Video Cup Final (730m) at The Meadows, fittingly following the family penchant for feature staying trophies.
“First Picked is a genuine stayer and she’s had a couple of looks at Cannington now, but I’m more hoping,” Britton said.
The Brittons’ affinity with the ‘Tears’ dynasty continued at Sandown Park on Thursday night.
Trapper Tears and Trooper Tears, April ’21 sons of Goodesy and Freaky Tears, a litter sister to Here’s Tears, ran the quinella in the Launching Pad Qualifier Final (515m).
Trapper Tears was victorious in a sizzling Best Of Night 29.17sec for Robert Britton, his fourth win from 11 starts and third in five appearances since relocating from NSW, while Trooper Tears has won five from nine.
