The Warrnambool Racing Club will host a competitive seven-race card this Monday afternoon. The track is currently a Soft 5, but with no rain forecast for Sunday and Monday we should be racing a Good 4 come race day. The rail will be out in the +4m position for the entire circuit, when racing kicks off at 1:30pm AEDT.
Best Bet at Warrnambool: Rich Paris
Our best bet of the day will be the Adam Chambers-trained Rich Paris who will be looking to record a hattrick of wins after returning this preparation in great style. This four-year-old mare has won both of her starts this campaign with those wins coming in very similar style, seeing her jump well, lead at a good tempo and running home a nice winner by a combined three lengths. This daughter of Danerich has a high cruising speed and likes to bowl along out in front, which will be perfect for her on Monday where she will stay at the 1000m at Warrnambool. This mare will rise 5kg in the weights to 62kg on Monday, but with her superior speed and the fact that she now strikes this race third-up, she will be at peak fitness and it shouldn’t be too much of a worry. Luke Williams has ridden this girl and both of her wins this time in and he will jump back aboard for this start. If Williams can get her to jump well and take the lead uncontested, one of these runners will have to jump out of the ground to run her down.

Next Best at Warrnambool: Mawallock
After a very nice win on debut at this track over 1100m, the Lindsey Smith-trained Mawallock will be returning to Warrnambool on Monday stepping up to 1200m and a Benchmark 58 Handicap. This three-year-old filly settled outside of the leader on debut and travelled to the home turn under a hold, before letting rip and kicking clear early in the home straight to run out an easy 1.3 length victor. This daughter of Trust In A Gust will take a lot out of her debut run, and now that she steps up to 1200m and returns to a track that she knows, she will be much better second-up. From barrier four we should see Lachlan Overall take her to the lead or sit outside the leader and look to replicate her debut win. With the aid of Lachlan Overall’s 3kg claim, this girl will only have to carry 57kg, which should see her get every chance to record back-to-back wins and go onto bigger and better things.

Best Value at Warrnambool: Ripple Effect
Our best value play of the day at Warrnambool will be the Matthew Williams-trained Ripple Effect who has only had the one race start, which was over in New Zealand at Tauranga Racecourse over 1200m where she ran third behind subsequent Listed winner and Group 1 placegetter, Wild Night. This daughter of Time Test hasn’t had a public trial since arriving in Australia, but if she performs the same way she did on debut across the ditch, she will play a massive role in this Maiden Plate. Dean Yendall will take the ride on this filly on Monday and from barrier six, he should have her settle mid-field and if she is within four lengths off the leaders with 400m to go, she will be rattling home late on the outside to stake her claim in the concluding stages of the race.
