Devon Meadows trainer Peter Presutto is chasing a ‘black type’ double at Sandown Park on Thursday night.
And it will be a $30,000 payday in 42 minutes if Chic (Listed Maidment Memorial – 595m) and Dynamic Prince (Listed Australian Sprint – 515m) snare their respective event.
Chic (Box 2) – runner-up in last year’s G1 National Futurity behind her litter sister, Idolize – lines up in Race 6, 8.40pm.
Dynamic Prince (Box 4) – a recent G2 Warragul Cup finalist and finalist in last year’s G2 Shepparton Cup (7th) and G3 Silver Bullet (4th) – contests Race 8, 9.22pm.
Boasting a slick 34.16sec PB, Chic has started five times for two wins, one second and two thirds over 595m at SP. Her impressive overall record reads 52 starts for 12 wins, 14 seconds and 13 thirds with $102,530 in prizemoney.
Dynamic Prince has a fast 29.18sec PB over 515m at SP. He’s started there on six occasions for two wins, while his complete race CV is 56 starts for 23 wins, 10 seconds and three thirds with $119,075 in stakes.
He was a last start 29.79sec (Best) winner over G1 Melbourne Cup finalist El Dorado, which also contested the $1,000,000 to-the-winner The Phoenix last month.
Expert form analyst The Watchdog has assessed Chic as a $10 chance – behind Ned McDonald’s Black Sail ($3.60) and Michelle Mallia’s Golden Quest ($4.60) and Aston Velvet ($4.80)
Meanwhile, Tim Britton – On The Off ($10) and Wheel And Go ($7.50) – will also launch a dual challenge in the Maidment Memorial.
The Watchdog rates Dynamic Prince as a $3.40 top elect – ahead of Jason Thompson’s Modern Collinda and Tom Dailly’s Zippy Tesla, both at $4.60, and Rob Neocleous’ My Neo ($4.80).
And ‘Team Grenfell’ (Correy & Samantha) has three hopefuls – littermates Kai Bale ($10) and Joliet Bale ($41), and Vayda Bale ($16) – in the Australian Sprint.
WATCH: DYNAMIC PRINCE (B6) was a ‘right royal’ 29.79sec (Best) winner – defeating G1 Melbourne Cup finalist EL DORADO (B2) – at The Meadows last weekend.
