Rosehill Gardens will close out the Sydney Spring Carnival with Five Diamonds Ladies Day. The last day of the carnival will feature massive 10-race program on Saturday, highlighted by the Five Diamonds. The track is currently rated a Good 4, and with some good weather on the forecast once again this weekend, we should still be on a Good track come Saturday. The rail will be in the 3m position, and racing gets underway at 12:25pm AEDT.

Best Bet: Naval Seal
Our best bet of the day will come up in race four, where we are siding with the Chris Waller-trained Naval Seal, who will be second-up this Saturday after running a very good race first-up over 1600m behind Mahagoni on October 22. This lightly race four-year-old gelding will have taken a lot of benefit from his first run back from a spell, and will now be ready to win in a race that looks very winnable over 1800m. William Pike will stick with this talented galloper after riding him first-up last start, while he also rode this guy when he won last preparation over the Rosehill 1800m. This son of Snitzel has been to this track and trip once before for a win, so we don’t see any reason why he cannot go two from two on Saturday. Pike will have him out the back and looking to run on, so we expect to see him getting to the outside on the home turn and letting down with a big finish late.
Best Bet
Race 4 – #7 Naval Seal (8)
4yo Gelding | T: Chris Waller | J: William Pike (55.5kg)

Next Best: Barber
We were with James Cummings-trained Barber at his race debut on October 22, where he just got over the line to win over 1000m at Randwick. This son of Exceed And Excel was able to win on debut, but he didn’t want to put them away and win with ease, so with the race experience and the extra 100m on Saturday, this guy should be much better second-up. Hugh Bowman will take the ride on Saturday and from barrier 16 this two-year-old colt will need all of Bowman’s experience to get him into a good position upon settling, whether that be out the back or pushing forward to be on-pace once again. If he gets any luck in running and gets a chance to let down with 200m to go, this guy will take a lot of beating.
Next Best
Race 6 – #1 Barber (16)
2yo Colt | T: James Cummings | J: Hugh Bowman (56.5kg)

Best Value: Ventura Ocean
In the fifth race of the day, we think that the Kris Lees-trained Ventura Ocean looks to be a great value chance to take out the Benchmark 78 over 1200m. This seven-year-old gelding will return from a four month spell and he has a decent fresh record, with the two wins and a second from seven first-up starts throughout his career. This son of Raven’s Pass will benefit from Dylan Gibbons’ 2kg claim which brings him right into this race, as he is handicapped with the top-weight on Saturday. From barrier eight, we expect Gibbons to try and cross the field and slot in just behind the speed to give him every chance to record his sixth win.
Best Value
Race 5 – #1 Ventura Ocean (8)
7yo Gelding | T: Kris Lees | J: Dylan Gibbons (59.5kg)
