We’ve got racing at Randwick on Tuesday for the inaugural edition of The Big Dance, plus a huge undercard to sink our teeth into. The track is currently rated a Good 4, but with some rain expected heading into race-day, we could be in the Soft range for Tuesday morning. The rail is out 2 metres for the entire circuit, so look for runners to get off the fence late in the day. The first of 10 races is scheduled to get underway at 11:45am AEDT.
Best Bet: Norwegian Bliss
Norwegian Bliss has six career starts for as many wins and looks to make it win number seven in the lucky last at Randwick on Tuesday. First-up for the Nathan Doyle stable, Norwegian Bliss is a five-year-old mare that has been untouchable since breaking her maiden back in September of 2021. She’s very versatile in her race pattern, winning her finale last preparation by one length at Hawkesbury on April 30. She got back in the field for the first time in her career and had the ability to kick clear of her rivals from a precarious position. That win was at BM78 level, and finds another winnable race, this time at BM84. She looks better than her opposition on Tuesday, and she’s got Group-race quality about her.

Next Best: Dragonstone
Second-up at Randwick on Tuesday, Dragonstone looks a cracking bet for us with online bookmakers. After a forgettable first-up performance at Caulfield in Group 2 company, Dragonstone got too far back that day and raced in the worst part of the track when beaten 4.9 lengths by Asfoora, who also went on to win on Derby Day. The from looks strong, plus Dragonstone’s win at the end of last preparation at Listed level was outstanding, beating Prime Candidate by 1.8 lengths, take him on that win and he looks perfectly placed to find the winners enclosure again. Tom Sherry rode him to victory at Randwick on June 11, and if he can replicate that run, he’ll be very hard to beat.
Next Best
Race 7 – #6 Dragonstone (5)

Best Value: Green Shadows
Green Shadows is first-up for the Gerald Ryan & Sterling Alexiou stable and looks a great each-way bet in this BM64 contest. This colt by Menari was unfortunate not to grab a feature on his way to the paddock after being beaten convincingly in the JJ Atkins last time out by 13.8 lengths. Something clearly had gone amiss with him there, and he’s looked to bounce back for this first-up effort nicely with an impressive looking trial at Rosehill on October 4. He was hardly asked for an effort in the trial, and Green Shadows looks much better than BM64 grade. Expect Tyler Schiller to get back in the field and fly home late on this progressive type for connections.
Best Value
Race 4 – #4 Green Shadows (12)
