For the third time in the space of four weeks, wet weather has forced the transfer of a meeting scheduled for Kyneton.

On Tuesday morning, Racing Victoria (RV) advised that the meeting scheduled at Kyneton on Thursday, October 13, had been transferred to the Ballarat synthetic track owing to the impacts of wet weather.

The Kyneton track has received 66mm rain in the past week and is currently rated a Heavy 9.

With 20-30mm forecast tomorrow and 60-80mm forecast on Thursday, it is not expected that the track will be suitable for racing, so the early decision was made to transfer the meeting to ensure it proceeds.

Acceptances for this meeting were due to close at 9am this morning with the deadline extended to 10:30am. A total of 84 runners have accepted to go around on the Ballarat synthetic.

It’s the third time since September 19 that the Kyneton track has been impacted with wet weather, with the all-weather track at Pakenham picking up the meetings.

The amended program as a result of the transfer is below:

  • Race 1 – 3YO Fillies Maiden Plate (1100m)
  • Race 2 – Maiden Plate (1100m)
  • Race 3 – Maiden Plate (1400m, was 1450m)
  • Race 4 – Maiden Plate (2100m, was 1850m)
  • Race 5 – BM58 Handicap (1200m)
  • Race 6 – F&M BM64 Handicap (1100m)
  • Race 7 – BM64 Handicap (1400m, was 1450m)
  • Race 8 – BM64 Handicap (2100m, was 1850m)
