Eduardo has joined the likes of Redzel and Nature Strip as winners as the Concorde Stakes (1000m), as he bolted in to win by more than 2.5 lengths in the 2022 edition at Royal Randwick.
Now a nine-year-old, winning trainer Joseph Pride said it doesn’t mean a thing for his champion sprinter, who ages like a fine red wine.
After opening as an even-money favourite, Eduardo drifted out to as much as $3 with online bookmakers, but he never looked like going under after sitting outside the leader for Nash Rawiller.
Eduardo was able to beat the consistent Athelric, while Handle The Truth closed well into third place.

Despite being first-up, Pride said he was “surprised” to see his stable stalwart drift in the market.
“I don’t bet at that sort of price but I was a bit surprised,” Pride said.
“I did hear he was the lay of the day with the TAB which was a bit surprising but good luck to the punters who got on him, his loyal followers.
“We will be here for The Shorts in a couple of weeks time and then we’ll give him the month into The Everest.
“He has come back in terrific order, he’s heavier than he has ever been and you’ll see that reflected in his race performances.”
Now an $8 chance with Australian betting sites for The Everest (1200m), Nash Rawiller is hopeful that things might go his way this spring after finishing in the placings in last year’s edition behind Nature Strip and Masked Crusader.
“He’s going as good as ever,” the jockey said.
“Who knows, he is sort of due for things to fall into place in a big one so maybe this is his year.”
