Best Bet at Bendigo – All She Wrote

All She Wrote almost got the money at her second start and after placing in three of her four starts, we think she is ready to break her maiden. At Wangaratta two weeks ago she was fair to the line when starting second favourite and she should improve off that run being second up. For trainer Matt Laurie and jockey Ethan Brown, she will settle around fifth we predict and similar to last start, try to reel them in over the final 200m of the 1100m event. Darcy’s Debut for Simon Wilde will start around the $3.50 mark with online bookmakers and he must be respected.

Next Best at Bendigo – Polite Applause

For Patrick Payne and Billy Egan, Polite Applause has been placed in three of five starts and is an improving type. Her last two thirds have come from different racing patterns. At Wangaratta on May 22, she settled a long way back and stormed home. A few weeks later, she settled on pace, hit the front and just got collared with 50m to go so it will be interesting to see what Egan does in this event. Before that this horse had five jumpouts so she is very fit and ready to break her maiden.Egan knows this horse pretty well now which is a positive. Appealing for Archie Alexander will be very competitive and will be one to watch in the run.

Next Best

Race 4 – Silk #10 Polite Applause (8)

3yo Filly | T: Patrick Payne | J: Billy Egan (58kg)

$3.40 with Ladbrokes

Best Value at Bendigo – Carmen Lucia

Carmen Lucia will be good odds in this event and we think she can run in the top four. From barrier nine, the daughter of Fastnet Rock x Fontein Ruby ran okay for fourth at Ballarat last start and at a big price with online betting sites, she’s worth a play. Before her fourth she won a four-horse jumpout at Flemington and being in a leading stable of the Hayes family, she must be kept relatively safe. On debut she ran a nice second at Morphettville and her only real poor run was when she was last at Geelong at her second start. We are forgiving that. 1400m is the distance in this one and Blake McDougall takes the reins.

Best Value

Race 3 – Silk #7 Carmen Lucia (9)

3yo Filly | T: Ben & JD Hayes | J: Blaike McDougall (57.5kg)
