What Hamilton Races
Where Hamilton Racing Club – Henty Hwy, Hamilton, VIC, 3300
When Tuesday, May 31, 2022
First Race 11:10am AEST

Hamilton Racing Club is the destination for a massive ten-race card on Tuesday afternoon, where six races are set to be run over the obstacles with plenty of Hurdle and Steeplechase races on the card. The track has come up a Soft 5, with the rail in the true position in what looks to be a perfect day for racing on the competitive card.

The first of ten is set to jump at 11:10am AEST.

Best Bet at Hamilton – Bazini

Despite there being a couple of short-priced favourites over the jumps, we are looking to mark our mark on the flat when the Symon Wilde-trained Bazini steps out in the final event. The four-year-old gelding was massive in defeat when first-up at Geelong on May 20 when defeated by the barest of margins when needing to lug 62.5kg first-up from a six-month spell. He will need to carry the same weight on Tuesday but considering the sole win of his career came when second-up he clearly improves with a run under his belt. The Dundeel gelding will let proceedings unfold out in front, but with a long straight and a strong finishing burst, Bazini should be allowed to build through the gears and finish strongly down the centre of the straight. We are more than happy to take the $2.90 on offer with online betting sites.

Next Best at Hamilton – Home Rule

The Maddy Raymond-trained Home Rule has been nothing short of impressive in his last three starts and looks perfectly placed to bring up a second win of his campaign. The four-year-old gelding finished fifth, beaten under a half-length at Warrnambool on May 3 following a wide run when settling three wide with no cover up on speed. Prior to that, he was a dominant winner at Geelong in a race no harder than what he contests on Tuesday. From barrier seven with little speed drawn inside of him, the in-form John Allen will have settled in the first four and has the opportunity to take up the running. He has chased home the likes of Midwest, Direct and I Am Me this time in and considering nothing like the calibre of those runners are in this event, Home Rule looks a great bet in the third leg of the quaddie.

Best Value at Hamilton – Nerone

The Richard Laming-trained Nerone is a horse who mixes his form, but on his day is certainly more than capable of taking out a race like this. The five-year-old gelding simply could not go along with the breakneck tempo at Pakenham on May 19, but the two runs prior when narrowly beaten at Warrnambool two runs back and his win at Mornington three runs ago has him right in a race like this. From barrier eight, Kiran Quilty will look to have the Hallowed Crown gelding settled midfield with cover. If he can find clear air approaching the home turn, Nerone’s turn of foot is more than good enough to have him to fight out the finish in this. The $11 on offer with Neds is a ridiculous price in our opinion.
