Despite the appearance of G1 Sandown Cup champion Zipping Rambo (19 from 43 – 34.16sec PB), The Watchdog is tipping G2 placegetter Jarick Bale in today’s Mixed 3/4 600m race at The Meadows.
G2 runner-up Twisted Reality and last start winner Aces Are Trumps are considered the biggest threats to the Mark Delbridge-trained kennelmates.
The Horizon finalist Whistling Bullet (2 of last 4) v Aston Harlow v G2 finalist Zipping Vernon and Vardan Bale v Flying Lantern v Gracie Bale v Dynamic Prince (5 from 9) should be great battles.
Going Alright v Aston Future v Call Me Chloe v Big Alfie and Soda Fizz v Zarate (2 of last 4) v Starlight Tyson (2 of last 3) are competitive Restricted Win 600m heats, while Aston Sunset should dominate her heat.
Recent G3 Great Chase runner-up Hamillson (5 of last 6) faces People Get Ready and Invictus Jaxson (29.68sec PB) in the Grade 5 520m final at Cranbourne this evening.
Sir Harley v Fernando’s Quest (29.69sec PB) should be a terrific duel, while Dreamers Lie and Clever Trevor (2 of last 4) are both predicted to boost their respective strike rates.
G3 finalists Reloaded (2 from 3 Box 1) and Shima Jake (2 from 3 Box 4) line up against Indy Lolly (won last 3) and Big Fonzie (5 from 10) in the Mixed 4/5 450m race at Ballarat tonight.
Fabriola Ximenez v Specialty (won last 2) and All Inn Chester v Lola Coaster v All Inn Benny v Foxy Bourbski (3 of last 6) v Trending Rookie should be thrilling clashes, while Deep Dive has the class edge on her rivals.
Buster’s Choice and Strategic are both expected to triumph in the Tier 3 meeting at Bendigo.

MUST-WATCH RACE: Houdini Boy at Stud Mixed 3/4
ZIPPING RAMBO JARICK BALE
The Meadows Race 4 600m 12:37pm
Form https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666539170/race/4
The Watchdog says : High class affair for a midweeker at The Meadows and two high profile kennelmates are expected to dominate. ZIPPING RAMBO (4) is a Group 1 winner and since resuming from a spell in late September he has been both ultra-impressive and very disappointing. Three runs back, he carved out a sizzling 29.44sec when scoring at Sandown Park, however he has been unlucky and disappointing in his subsequent runs. He is always at his best when he can pounce on the lead and dictate terms, so with limited early pace in one and two, and a vacant draw in three, he should get every chance to cross and assume control as they pass the post the first time. We know what he is capable of when in the clear, so if he does lead, he will take a power of beating, However, his kennelmate JARICK BALE (5) is just as talented on his day and with a clean getaway, he will get a nice cart across into the bend and then dial up the pressure in the middle stages. There is nothing between the two runners on the clock, but ‘Rambo’ can crack a little when pressure is applied, so that’s why I’m giving the edge to ‘Jarick’ today. The Delbridge runners are expected to dominate, but we still can’t sleep on the talented TWISTED REALITY (1) and MEPUNGA FELIX (8). Both are more than capable and if the kennelmates happen to bump up front, one of these two could capitalise late.

$1 Trifecta – 5 / 4 / 1,2,8 (33.33%)
The Meadows Race 4 600m 12:37pm Must Watch Race
Form https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666539170/race/4
The Watchdog says : ZIPPING RAMBO (4) should lead them, but I think JARICK BALE (5) can get to him mid race and prove too strong in the run home. There isn’t much separating TWISTED REALITY (1), ACES ARE TRUMPS (2) and MEPUNGA FELIX (8), so we have included all three for third.
$3 Win – QUINCEE BALE
The Meadows Race 6 Box 8 525m 1:22pm
TAB fixed odds: $3.90 Win
Form https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666539170/race/6
The Watchdog says : QUINCEE BALE (8) has shown a lot of improvement in recent weeks and with SAILOR’S GIRL (7) expected to spear the lids and carve left, he should get a nice run into the first bend. His 25.14sec Ballarat win was elite and he should be able to break them up in the middle stages today.
$3 Win – GRACIE BALE
The Meadows Race 8 Box 4 525m 2:00pm
TAB fixed odds: $3.40 Win
Form https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666539170/race/8
The Watchdog says : Her performance when placed in a heat of the Group 2 Cranbourne Cup was colossal and she looks very well graded today. She is capable of leading or coming from off the pace in her races and with the speedy SHE’S SO KIND (3) expected to give her a nice cart across early, she should head to the back in a prominent spot and then prove too strong late.
$3 Multi
First : Place – TRENDING QUARTER
Ballarat Race 5 Box 2 545m 8:17pm
TAB fixed odds: $1.65 Place
Form https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/712852861/race/5
Second : Win – DREAMERS LIE
Cranbourne Race 6 Box 1 520m 8:31pm
TAB fixed odds: $1.45 Win
Form https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666539172/race/6
Third : Place – DEEP DIVE
Ballarat Race 6 Box 7 450m 8:41pm
TAB fixed odds: $1.50 Place
Form https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/712852861/race/6
The Watchdog says : TRENDING QUARTER (2) is suspect in the closing stages; however, he should be able to set up a big break in the middle stages and then hold on for a top three finish. DREAMERS LIE (1) has turned in some great performances of late and there should be no excuses from the good draw tonight. DEEP DIVE (7) is suitably drawn out wide and she can carve out time when in the clear, so with an even getaway, she should be prominent throughout and hit the scoreboard.
