First Race 5:52pm AEST

HorseBetting’s Queensland form analyst brings you his best bets and quaddie picks for the the seven-race program at the Sunshine Coast on Friday evening. The track is rated a Good 4, the rail is out 3m for the entire course, and the first race of the night will jump at 5:52pm AEST.

Sunshine Coast Best Bet – Thatfeelsbetter

In the penultimate race, Baylee Nothdurft will partner the Steven O’Dea & Matt Hoysted-trained Thatfeelsbetter in a 1200m Class 1. The three-year-old gelding has had just three career starts, winning once, running second once and running third once, so he is always in and around the money. First-up, the son of Better Than Ready won impressively at Ipswich over 1200m, before nearly falling in his most recent start inside the final 50m when checked by another runner. Back to the 1200m with plenty of galloping room from barrier four should see him return to the winner’s stall.

Best BetRace 6 – Thatfeelsbetter (#8) $3 with Sportsbet

Next Best at Sunshine Coast – Maya Bay

Angela Jones combines with Tony & Maddysen Sears in the third race aboard talented gelding Maya Bay. The four-year-old has finished in the first two in six of his eight starts, including a runner-up effort last time out in June behind the then-in-form Eloquently. The son of Headwater will cross the field from the outside barrier and should get a comfortable lead under the apprentice jockey, which will make him very hard to catch. Maya Bay is a winner when first-up in the past and the 1000m journey is his pet distance, so we would be surprised to see him get beaten here.

Next BestRace 3 – Maya Bay (#2) $2.20 with Sportsbet

Best Value at Sunshine Coast – Beanhugged

Darryl Hansen and Borris Thornton combine in the fourth with four-year-old son of Spill The Beans, Beanhugged. The gelding has been the bridesmaid on three occasions in his eight-start career, with two of those runner-up efforts here on his home track. Drawn out in barrier 10 for Thornton, Beanhugged is likely to cross and look for a prominent position, which will suit as there is plenty of speed drawn wider than him, so he can get a back to follow to take him into the race. The 1400m third-up should suit too.

Best ValueRace 4 – Beanhugged (#3) $5.50 with Sportsbet
