HorseBetting’s Victorian form analyst presents his best bets and quaddie numbers for Kyneton Cup Day on Wednesday afternoon. The track is rated a Good 4, with the rail out 2m from the 1200m to the winning post and then true for the remainder. The first of nine races is set to get underway at 12:30pm AEDT.

Kyneton Cup Best Bet – Indiana Lilly

The time-honoured Kyneton Cup is the feature event, with $125,000 on the line. We have settled on the Shea Eden-trained Indiana Lilly, who has managed to string together consecutive wins including a smart victory at Kyneton two starts back over the 1887m. She then backed it up with a soft win at Sale on October 24 over 2200m, and despite dropping back to the 2012m, we expect the Teofilo mare to be too hard to hold out. She gives a class edge to a few of these, but with Craig Newitt on board from barrier four, she is sure to gain a nice tow into the race. If she brings her recent form to the Kyneton Cup, then we expect Indiana Lilly to prove too hard to hold out at a nice price.

Kyneton Best Bet – Magic City

Henry Dwyer and Michael Poy are set to combine with the four-year-old Magic City, who has seemingly been racing in strong form races. He has chased home the smart Mornington Glory first-up from a spell, before finishing third behind Brooklyn’s Boss and Oriental Legend, who both look to have plenty of upside. He draws barrier one on Wednesday, which is always a bonus at Kyneton, and with speed drawn to his outside, he is almost certain to gain a cosy run in transit. If Poy gets even luck approaching the home straight, we expect Magic City to prove too good here.

Best BetRace 2 – Magic City (#3) $4 with Sportsbet

Kyneton Value Bet – Kamien

The Peter Galagotis-trained Kamien has been mixing his form in recent times, but we expect him to bounce back into the winner’s stall at Kyneton. He seemingly had his last start at Moe shot to pieces when kicking clear on the home turn by three lengths, but he was ultimately run down in the shadows of the winning post when finishing fourth, beaten by 0.3 lengths. That was over 1600m, so you would he will appreciate dropping back to the 1449m on Wednesday. From barrier two, Tianni Chapman will look to dictate terms throughout, and with just 56.5kg on his back after the apprentice hoop’s 3kg claim, Kamien should prove too hard to run down this time round.
