The Committee of the Bendigo Greyhound Racing Association (BGRA) is pleased to announce local sports administrator Charlton Hindle as its new General Manager.
With a Bachelor of Business, Sports Management and Development, Hindle comes to the Club after nearly four years working at the Bendigo Stadium as the Elite Team Coordinator including involvement in the management of WNBL side Bendigo Spirit, Bendigo Braves teams and other major events at the stadium.
Hindle has also worked with the Australian Open (AO) and has passed up an opportunity at the AO in 2022 to further his administrative career with the BGRA.
“I’m really excited to join the Bendigo Greyhound Racing Association. It’s an industry I’ve always been interested in and one that I’m excited to learn more about,” said Hindle.
“I’m really looking forward to learning how the greyhound industry operates and joining the current team at the BGRA. I’m excited to continue the great work that has been done, not only within the BGRA but continuing to implement community involvement through functions, charity fundraisers and the general family-friendly atmosphere that the Bendigo greyhounds has to offer. I’m looking forward to working with the Committee and stakeholders to continue implementing new ways to innovate and to navigate public involvement while remaining Covid safe”.
“I’m extremely grateful for this opportunity, as it is a great next step in my career and one I can’t wait to get started with.”
Club President Bob Douglas is excited about the new era ahead.
“Charlton is a young man with a clear vision of where he wants to go in his career and he impressed us greatly during the recruitment process. I am sure he will fit right into our environment and will bring some fresh ideas as well as maintain that community connection and club stability that is vitally important to us,” Douglas said.
“He joins the Club following Troy Harley, who has been at the helm for near on eleven years. In that time the club has provided stability and has progressed from being under administration to becoming one of the most successful regional clubs on and off the track, with an extensive list of improvements on site, hosting three feature race carnivals, staging several major social events and being in a strong financial position.”
Hindle will commence at the BGRA on 15 November.
