What Rosehill Gardens Races
Where Rosehill Gardens Racecourse – James Ruse Dr, Rosehill NSW 2142
When Wednesday, October 6, 2021
First Race 1:25pm AEDT

HorseBetting’s Sydney form analyst brings you his best bets and quaddie numbers for the eight-race metropolitan meeting at Rosehill Gardens on Wednesday, October 6. The rail will be out 6m for the entire course, while the track is rated a Soft 6. The first race is set to jump at 1:25pm AEDT.

Best Bet at Rosehill Gardens: Zetarita

Kris Lees and Hugh Bowman combine in the second race of the day with Zetarita, who is looking to make it three-straight wins. The three-year-old daughter of Capitalist was well backed at Muswellbrook two starts back and proved too good, then backed up with another win at Gosford last time out. She defeated Hoover Lucy at Gosford, with that filly going on to break her maiden status at Warwick Farm on Monday in very good style, franking the form. Drawn in barrier six, Bowman will have Zetarita in a prominent spot to the speed, and from there she will take some beating. We are happy to be on at the $5 quote.

Best BetRace 2 – Zetarita (#5) $5 with Sportsbet

Next Best at Rosehill Gardens: Mightybeel

Whenever James McDonald and Chris Waller combine, you simply have to take note. In the opening leg of the quaddie, Mightybeel looks ready to win again. Despite having only won once, this son of Savabeel has some solid form references around the likes of Travest and also Shibli, who will start as favourite earlier in the day. The four-year-old gelding rises to 1900m second-up, which is going to suit him down to the ground. Drawn in barrier four, we hope to see McDonald roll forward, like Mightybeel did when he won his maiden back in February. This looks his race.

Best Value at Rosehill Gardens: Zakat

After spruiking the McDonald/Waller combo just five sentences ago, we are going to take them on here in the final race of the day. While April Rain will take some beating if – and a big ‘if’, at that – she returns to the form we saw two campaigns ago, we are happy to side with the fit horse at the each-way odds in Zakat. The James Cummings-trained gelding will be ridden by Nash Rawiller, which is a big plus given the form that jockey is in. Zakat has had three runs this campaign, placing third behind Big Parade and Madam Legend in his first two runs, before finishing fifth to Count De Rupee last time out. He does have to carry a big weight (61kg) and has to overcome a sticky gate in barrier eight, but we expect him to be too good to have to worry about bad luck.

Best ValueRace 8 – Zakat (#2) $9.50 with Sportsbet
