First Race 2pm AEST

HorseBetting’s New South Wales form analyst brings you his best bets and quaddie numbers for the seven-race card on the Kensington track at Randwick this Wednesday. The track is rated a Good 4, the rail is in the true position for the entire course, and the first race is set to jump at 2pm AEST.

Randwick-Kensington Best Bet: Promise Of Success

Promise Of Success looks to be a mare that we can follow closely this spring after a dominant win first-up at this track over 1300m. After settling last in the run, Hugh Bowman guided the daughter of Dansili to the extreme outside and allowed her to let down strongly to win comfortably in the end by a length. Now stepping to 1400m second-up, John O’Shea’s six-year-old will look to get a similar run in transit. Barrier five is ideal for her, as she will get cover and be saved for a final crack at them, which seems to be her best racing style. This race is notably harder than her first-up win, as this is against the boys as well and she goes up 1kg in weight to 59kg, but she looks pretty smart.

Best BetRace 5 – Promise Of Success (#5) $1.60 with Sportsbet

Next Best at Randwick-Kensington: Blesk

Blesk is one horse who has always shown some ability, winning three of his 13 starts and placing on a further three occasions. The son of Savabeel has often found bad luck in the run, particularly here on the Kensington track, but he does his best racing first-up, so we are willing to side with him here after two nice trials. Hugh Bowman should be able to keep Blesk out trouble from barrier 10 and give him enough clear air to build into the race nicely. The five-year-old is yet to miss the places over this distance, despite the fact that he gets better over further, and based off the form that he brings from last campaign around Equation and Prince Of Arragon, he should be right in the finish on Wednesday.

Next BestRace 6 – Blesk (#7) $3.40 with Sportsbet

Randwick-Kensington Value Bet: Ita

Bjorn Baker’s mare Ita is chasing four straight victories this campaign, after dominant wins at Bathurst, Wyong and here on the Kensington track a fortnight ago over 1550m. The daughter of All Too Hard got the dream run in the straight last time out when kicking clear to defeat Head Of State, who subsequently won the Group 3 Gloaming Stakes at Rosehill on Saturday. Stepping out to 1800m now, Jason Collett will look to get cover in the run from barrier five to save her up for a final shot at them in the straight. Collett has won on the four-year-old at her past two starts, so he will be looking to make it a hat-trick aboard the talented mare. This looks a nice enough race for Ita to continue on her winning ways.

Best ValueRace 7 – Ita (#6) $6 with Sportsbet
