What Eagle Farm Races
Where Eagle Farm Racecourse – 230 Lancaster Road, Ascot QLD 4007
When Friday, September 17, 2021
First Race 12:32pm AEST

HorseBetting’s Queensland form analyst brings you his best bets and quaddie numbers for Eagle Farm’s rare Friday meeting on September 17. The track is rated a Good 4, the rail is out 11.5m for the entire course, and the first of eight races is scheduled to jump at 12:32pm AEST.

Best Bet at Eagle Farm: Dominarcher

Billy Healy and James Orman combine in the second race of the day with Dominarcher, who is chasing four straight wins at just his sixth start. The lightly raced son of Golden Archer looked to be underdone first-up at Doomben, but he really knuckled down late to win by a tenth of a length over 1110m. Healy has now elected to step his talented gelding out to 1400m, which looks to suit given how well he hit the line in his first run this campaign. Orman retains the ride, which is big plus, and barrier seven in the eight-horse race should not be too much of a concern, given he will get back and be strongest late. His first look at Eagle Farm is the only concern, but this five-year-old looks to be too good for these.

Best BetRace 2 – Dominarcher (#1) $2.45 with Sportsbet

Next Best at Eagle Farm: Lunasnit

Lunasnit has been backed off the map in her past two starts; we have been on at the overs both times, and on both occasions she has run second. Two starts back, the Barry Lockwood-trained mare was backed from $31 into $8 and was beaten by a narrow margin to Top Order, who has since won again, and while she led everywhere bar the post last time out over 1800m at Eagle Farm as Galaxy Belle made it three straight wins. Lunasnit now gets back out to 2231m, which is going to be right up her alley, and looks to face a much weaker field outside of the Matt Dunn-trained Taaffeite, who was a two-length winner at Lismore last time out. Lunasnit can box seat in the run from barrier three under Larry Cassidy and finally breakthrough in Queensland after three straight seconds.

Next BestRace 3 – Lunasnit (#5) $2.05 with Sportsbet

Best Value at Eagle Farm: Snowdrop

Chris Anderson’s three-year-old filly Snowdrop is the first emergency in this 1000m 3YO Fillies Maiden, so there is some doubt as to whether she actually starts or not. If she does start, we are quite confident in her chances of finally breaking through for a win at start number seven. The daughter of Capitalist debuted in the Max Lees Classic at Newcastle and ran a terrific second, before placing ninth in the Wyong Magic Millions 2YO Classic behind She’s All Class and Gleneagles. Her form has dropped off slightly since then; she failed to beat a runner home first-up despite being well supported by the market and then ran sixth of eight behind stablemate Rubiquitous at this track and distance on September 4. Back to maiden company here on Friday, Snowdrop can improve and be in the finish if she gains a start here.

Best ValueRace 5 – Snowdrop (#11) $7.50 with Sportsbet
