HorseBetting’s New South Wales racing analyst has previewed the card at Muswellbrook on Sunday, which is headlined by the Aberdeen Cup and has provided readers with a best bet in the cup, as well as two specials throughout the afternoon and a suggested quaddie. The track is currently rated a Soft 7, and the rail is out 3m from the 1000m to the 300m before the cutaway rail comes into effect. The first of seven races is due to jump at 12:50pm.

Muswellbrook’s Aberdeen Cup Tips

Cody Morgan will saddle up ex-Chris Waller gelding, Lubuk, in Sunday’s feature race. The four-year-old has had just two starts for Morgan, running eighth and fifth respectively, with his last start fifth coming at Narromine in the Digger’s Cup when luckless behind subsequent winner A Magic Zariz. The son of I Am Invincible has been back to the trials since that last start on April 27th where he finished second in a very tight go, and gets in here with barrier 6 and 58.5kg under Aaron Bullock. This looks the perfect race for Lubuk.

Muswellbrook’s Best Bet Of The Day

Cameron Crockett and Aaron Bullock combine in the fourth with this three-year-old gelding, Remorseless. The son of Written Tycoon has had four starts for a win and two thirds, with the victory coming at his most recent start in October 2020. The three-year-old has trialled twice since then – once in December and most recently on May 19th – where he won both in nice style. Drawn barrier four, Bullock will take this lightly raced galloper to the lead and that will hopefully be all she wrote.

Muswellbrook’s Next Best Bet

Well the market really has the opener down to three chances, with the top three runners in betting all between $2.70 and $3. We are siding with the favourite here however, In Spades. The two-year-old filly tried to lead all of the way at Newcastle last start, but was just reeled in late by Bitcoin Baby over 900m, going down by a one-hundredth of a length. The Dissident filly is trained by Justin Bowen on course, so she will have the home track advantage and has drawn well in gate five. Staying at the 900m is a plus, as she will look to lead throughout again. She can go one better here,
