An Outstanding Wave of Talent on Offer at Ready to Run Sale

An exciting crop of juveniles will be out in force, with New Zealand Bloodstock’s 2020 Ready to Run Sale of Two-Year-Olds providing unmatched access to new stallions embarking on exciting stud careers.

Listed below alphabetically is a snapshot of six freshman sires with progeny on offer at the Ready to Run Sale.

Belardo

There are seven Belardo two-year-olds offered in the Ready to Run Sale catalogue.

The winner of the Group One Dewhurst Stakes (1400m) as a two-year-old and Lockinge Stakes (1600m) at the age of four, Haunui Farm shuttle stallion Belardo has made an excellent start at stud in the northern hemisphere with seven first-crop winners.

His first stakes winner Isabella Giles has claimed back-to-back stakes victories in the Group two Newmarket Rockfel Stakes (1400m) and the Group Three Prestige Stakes (1400m). Lullaby Moon and Bell I Am have also placed at stakes level.

  • Lot 65 comes from the family of Group One winner Tall Poppy (NZ) (Kaapstad) and several other stakes performers, including Group One New Zealand Derby (2400m) runner-up What’s the Story (NZ) (Savabeel).
  • Lot 278 is out of a sister to stakes performers Hammer Down (NZ) (O’Reilly) and Nahema (NZ) (Per Incanto).
  • Lot 289 comes from the family of high-class Australian galloper Gold Symphony (Reward for Effort). The dam of this gelding is also a half-sister to Group Three winner Stripper (Danehill Dancer).

Preferment

There are five two-year-olds by Preferment in the Ready to Run Sale.

Brighthill Farm stallion Preferment (NZ) was a high-class racehorse, winning the Group One Victoria Derby (2500m), Turnbull Stakes (2000m), Australian Cup (2000m) and BMW Stakes (2400m).

  • Lot 121 is out of a full-sister to stakes winner Zin Zan Eddie (Zizou).
  • The dam of Lot 128 is a half-sister to stakes winner Gustavo (NZ) (Savabeel).
  • The dam of Lot 308 is a sister to Group One winner Perlin (NZ) (Carnegie) and stakes winner Almodovar (NZ) (Pins), as well as the dam of $1m Karaka Million 2YO (1200m) winner Hardline (NZ) (Showcasing). This family also features Group One performer (My) Xpression (NZ) (Showcasing).

Tarzino

The 2020 Ready to Run Sale catalogue features 10 of Tarzino’s progeny.

Westbury Stud’s Tarzino (NZ) was a Group One winner in both Melbourne and Sydney as a three-year-old, capturing the Victoria Derby (2500m) and Rosehill Guineas (2000m).

  • Lot 34 is out of Sydney stakes-winning mare Readyor (More than Ready), who is a granddaughter of five-time Group One winner Triscay (Marscay).
  • Lot 150 is a half-brother to two black-type performers including Group Three winner Cartaya (Singspiel).
  • The dam of Lot 240 is a half-sister to stakes performers Yesterday’s Songs (Henrythenavigator) and Rahveel (Zabeel). Their dam is Group One performer Sarah Vee (End Sweep).
  • Lot 288 descends from the great Romanee Conti (NZ) (Sir Tristram), a big-race winner in New Zealand, Australia and Hong Kong. She is the dam of champion mare Ethereal (NZ) (Rhythm) and dam or granddam of more than half a dozen stakes performers.

Tivaci

There are three Tivaci two-year-olds in the Ready to Run Sale.

In his final start before retiring to Waikato Stud, high-class racehorse Tivaci captured Group One glory in the All Aged Stakes (1400m) at Randwick.

  • Lot 118 is out of a half-sister to stakes winners Grand Dancer (NZ) (No Excuse Needed) and Aspinal (NZ) (Pins).
  • The dam of Lot 181 is a half-sister to the Group Two Emancipation Stakes (1600m) winner Sworn to Secrecy (NZ) (Keeper) and three other stakes performers, plus multiple black-type producer Accidentallyinlove (NZ) (Cape Cross).
  • Lot 192 is out of a half-sister to Group One Avondale Gold Cup (2200m) winner The Mighty Lions (NZ) (Grosvenor) and three other black-type performers.

Turn Me Loose

There are eight sons or daughters of Turn Me Loose in the 2020 Ready to Run Sale catalogue.

Windsor Park Stud’s Turn Me Loose (NZ) was an exceptional sprinter-miler on both sides of the Tasman, winning the Group One New Zealand 2000 Guineas (1600m) before heading to Melbourne and adding the Group One Emirates Stakes (1600m) and Futurity Stakes (1400m).

  • Lot 9 is out of a half-sister to Singapore stakes winner Tannhauser (NZ) (Tavistock).
  • The dam of Lot 92 is a half-sister to two stakes performers including two-time Group One placegetter Prince Mambo (NZ) (Thewayyouare).
  • Lot 211 is a half-brother to Listed Ryder Stakes (1200m) winner Atenartin (NZ) (Showcasing).
  • The dam of Lot 217 is a winning full-sister to the Group Two Wakeful Stakes (2000m) winner Rocha (Encosta de Lago), being out of Group One winner Larrocha (Danehill).

Vadamos

The 2020 Ready to Run Sale catalogue features seven Vadamos two-year-olds.

Rich Hill Stud’s Vadamos was a stakes performer across multiple seasons, culminating with victory in the Group One Prix du Moulin de Longchamp (1600m). He also placed in the Group One Prix Jacques le Marois (1600m). 

Vadamos has also made a promising start at stud in the northern hemisphere, with ten two-year-old winners.

  • Lot 18 is a half-brother to Group One Dubai Golden Shaheen (1200m) runner-up Super Jockey (NZ) (Sandtrap) and stakes winner Single Currency (NZ) (Bachelor Duke).
