Race 1
4 Navagio: Two big efforts thus far in the career and a repeat of either makes him very hard to beat here tonight.
3 Laver: Maiden win was no fluke, very nice type who was excellent winning last time out. Can on with it and grab another one too.
1 Cloud Nine: In good nick and running strong races since winning maiden. Stacks up quite nicely here, especially form the inside draw.
8 Let’s Hustle: Sit and swooper who might appreciate a bit of tempo in this line up today. Can get back and then look to launch on them late.
Selections: 4-3-1-8
Race 2
12 Musculature Metro: Has come back in fine fettle. Cost himself the win at Orari probably. Can make amends for that tonight in a good maiden field.
8 The Last One: Smart workout and trial performer from the Barron stable. That gets the attention immediately. Widish draw but right man in the bike.
14 Zigzagzoo: Consistent performer who must be rewarded with a maiden success at some point soon. Can rush at them late.
2 Vacation Hill: Patient hands required thus far but excellent from well back last time out. Inside draw might not be a great thing but a big hope all the same.
Selections: 12-8-14-2
Race 3
8 The Guild: Got the job done last time out in a good maiden field. Steps up in grade here but is genuine and bound to give a good account of himself. Each way value.
12 Rocknroll Rod: Wow, where’d he come from at The Mot. Big win. That’s a bit more like it and a repeat today will take him pretty close to getting a big slice again.
7 Can I Be Me: Worked hard at Kaikoura and it told late. Classy at best and no surprise to see a big effort in tonight’s assignment with any luck.
5 Ghostwriter: Very fast mare who with a nice trip near the speed could prove to slick for her rivals over the concluding stages.
Selections: 8-12-7-5
Race 4
6 Delightful GNP: Got clear too late at Orari but the race was run by then anyway. Two great runs to open the career and hard to beat here tonight.
1 Peraki Reactor: Excellent effort fresh up at Timaru and gets a really nice draw to make the most of tonight. Can win with a cold shot at them late.
12 Prospect Park: You can’t drop a horse who has run top three in all starts to date. Does work and keeps fighting so an each way hope once again.
11 Beaudiene Hustler: Seocnd behind a good one last time out. Should get a trip through from the second line and can certainly be there fighting out the finish.
Selections: 6-1-12-11
Race 5
9 One Over Da Son: Two great runs to open the campaign and should be right and ready to rock and roll. Wide draw but patient driver who will give him every opportunity.
2 Tehoro Dazzle: On speed runner who should be handy to them throughout here. Can give them a bit of cheek, especially if in front.
6 Justan’s Sister: Form has just tapered off a little, but is talented and Morrison jumps in the bike so gets a good chance to make a good play for this.
5 Another Chapter: Loves the mobile short course stuff and not the worst here if able to get handy to the speed and make them work a bit.
Selections: 9-2-6-5
Race 6
8 Bringitonhome: In form, fit and was excellent last time out behind a very good one. Could sit and swoop here. Orange in the bike adds a big tick too.
4 Spot On: Nice type back from a spell and excellent trial win recently. Will jump and run and from near the speed looks a big chance tonight of getting a slice.
9 Memphis Tennessee: Classy type back from a spell with a good trial effort under the belt. Should stand up and be a major player in this with any luck.
3 Franco Niven: Excellent win to cap off some outstanding form through November last time out. Manners are generally good so would pay to have in the mix again.
Selections: 8-4-9-3
Race 7
6 The Kaik: Too slow up front for him at Oamaru, he needs a bit more speed in the race to show his best. Should get that here and can swoop on them late.
4 Doctor Tim: In great form and always a chance, especially in a race like this where things are so open. Positive drive and a good tempo makes him hard to beat.
10 Sweet Loress: Last run was a lot better than it may have looked. This draw should work out really nicely and with one cold shot at them can win at a price.
1 The Governor: Tried to run them into the dirt last time out and gets the opportunity to do the same here once again. Can be right there at the finish.
Selections: 6-4-10-1
Race 8
1 Majestic Chevron: Cruised to success last time out and will be out to do the same again here with any luck. Looks very hard to beat.
5 Globe Trekker: In great touch and meets a very even looking field here. With any luck he’ll be running on strong and asking them all to fend him off again.
3 Far From True: Grown a leg in the last couple of weeks after two emphatic wins. Talented, but this is a step up so will need to be better again.
4 Zsa Zoe: Another with good form on the board. Can certainly give this race a bit of shake based on the recent efforts.
Selections: 1-5-3-4
Race 9
3 Maharani: That Kerr and Anderson combination here, so we’re taking notice. Strong workout win. Everything points to year.
4 Saginaw: Was going to get a big slice at The Mot last week before galloping. Talented, but enigmatic and will need to do it right but is good enough.
8 Rozzano: Not much worked out last week but might try for one cold shot here which might work out better. Better than most of them.
7 Canstar: Should be better for the fresh up run. Wide draw but it’s a pretty even field so you’d expect a big run with natural improvement.
Selections: 3-4-8-7
BEST: 3 Maharani (Race 9)
NEXT: 4 Navagio (Race 1)
VALUE: 6 Delightful GNP (Race 4)
