GRV are committed to providing support to enable participants to achieve positive effective and productive outcomes. With Code of Practice now business as usual for participants, the Support team are able to provide enhanced ongoing support on a wide variety of greyhound racing and welfare related matters, and in a way that fits with participants’ day to day routines and needs. Coursing season to open at full capacity
Coursing in 2020 is off to a promising start with a full card of 12 events to begin the season at Lang Lang on Sunday. Gr8 run by Haze leaves rivals in a daze
A barnstorming run from Weblec Haze has seen the powerful greyhound take out last night’s Gr8 Eight event at The Meadows. Trained by Jeff Britton, the son of Barcia Bale and Weblec Belle showed off his monster engine when swooping around his rivals to win the 600m event in 34.31sec. Weblec Haze paid $12.00 for the win, his 11th victory from 37 starts, with Australian Cup finalists Last Hurrah and Aston Cade running 2nd and 3rd respectively. In the ‘Midnight’ hour
As the ‘midnight hour’ of winter’s start approaches, Sale trainer Chris Tilley had a day to remember today. He won the Healesville Derby (350m) with Midnight Monarch (presentation above), and around two and a half hours later Wake The Dragon ($13.80) took out a Restricted Win (440m) at Sale. Tilley collected $7250 for both wins, which equates to approximately $48 per minute. Go The Blue Dog raises $6,000
Victorian greyhounds raised $6,000 for the Police Legacy Remembrance Fund during May. Every time a greyhound wearing the blue number four rug won a race at The Meadows or Sandown throughout the month of May, GRV donated $250 to the fund in honour of the four fallen police officers who lost their lives in a tragic crash on Melbourne’s Easter Freeway on 22 April.
