Champion Pacer Dies Aged 34

Three-time Australian horse of the year Westburn Grant, a champion with strong New Zealand links, has died, aged 34. Foaled in 1985 he was the winner of 38 races from 67 starts, earning over two million dollars. Bred by Barney and Colleen Breen, who lived in Prebbleton just outside Christchurch, the horse was by Land Grant out of Westvue Vue. Racing New Zealand welcomes RITA’s funding announcement

Racing New Zealand has welcomed today’s announcement from the Racing Industry Transition Agency (RITA) that the funding for 2020-21 will remain at $139.6m, the same level budgeted for the 2019/20 season.
